Casa Las
Palmas is a privately-owned home situated on a hillside
overlooking a Caribbean bay. To accommodate singles
and couples, we offer for rent a one-bedroom apartment called "La Palmita" on the ground floor
of the house. It contains
a full kitchen and a large deck overlooking the Caribbean. There is a small snorkeling
beach just a few hundred feet away, and two docks for
boats and water
activities. Rates are $125/day in off-season and $150/day in peak season.
Minimum stays are three nights in off-season and four nights in peak season. If you stay for five nights,
the next two nights are free! |
Casa Las
Palmas is conveniently located in the exclusive Punta Aloe
area on Ensenada Honda (Deep Bay), on Culebra's Caribbean
shore, about a half-mile south of the main town of Dewey. It
is just minutes away from shopping, restaurants, beaches, the
ferry dock, and Culebra Airport. Casa Las Palmas was formerly part of Culebra Island Villas, which
Fielding's CARIBBEAN rated as "the best in self-catering accommodations on Culebra Island" (Fielding's CARIBBEAN 1998, p. 600). Click
here to find out more about our rental
rates.
About 40% of
Culebra and the adjoining reefs and islets are wildlife
preserve, administered by the U.S. Department of the Interior.
Access is permitted, and there are spectacular hiking trails
all over the island. On our busiest beach, there might be two dozen
people on a typical weekday along its two miles of powder-white
sand.
On other, even more deserted beaches, endangered sea turtles
come ashore to nest. Click
here for information on how you can
participate in a turtle-watching expedition. Culebra has
regular air service from San Juan and Fajardo, Puerto Rico, and high-speed ferry service from
Fajardo. Click
here for schedules and details.
